Our Story.
After a long and rewarding career in the banking industry, I decided to write a new chapter, doing something completely different and turn a hobby into a business venture.
I love cooking for people me and my husband have experimented with BBQ for many years. When I came across a video of a street food vendor sharing his story I loved the idea of it - the freedom, the energy, the community connection.
Then when we stumbled upon a food van for sale that was equipped with a built-in South African Braai the idea of cooking over fire sealed the deal — Hel’s Kitchen was born.
Our food is inspired by a love of cooking different cuisines from countries the world over and the special flavour of food cooked over fire.
